Core Fee Policy

What is a core?

A core is the old or failing part being replaced in your vehicle by ECU Maverick. We recycle these cores by completely disassembling and cleaning them, replacing any faulty or worn components, and restoring them to their original function.

Why do we charge a core deposit fee?

This fee ensures that the old defective part is sent back to us. Our business relies on a steady supply of cores to re-manufacture and resell, which helps keep prices low.

Our core policy requires that all cores be returned within 10 business days from the original purchase of a part requiring a core return. Failure to do so may result in the loss of your core charge refund. If you were not charged an upfront core fee and fail to return the core within 10 days, you will be charged the full core fee.

Cores that have been disassembled or have missing or damaged major components will not receive full core credit. Contact us at support@ecumaverick for more details.

How does a core charge work?
1. The part you are purchasing contains recyclable components.
2. A core charge deposit is applied at the time of purchase.
3. When the recyclable part is returned to ECU Maverick, the charge is refunded back to the credit card used for the initial purchase.

How to receive your core charge refund?
1. Mail the part back to ECU Maverick following the instructions sent to your email.
2. Core Charges will be refunded within 10 business days from the original purchase. The core item returned must match the part purchased.
3. All cores must be returned in the original box that the new part was shipped in.
4. Cores should NOT be damaged, opened, or tampered with. If your core has permanent damage as a result of a previous attempt at repair, we will be unable to offer a refund.
5. The value on the commercial invoices should not be changed, as it may result in additional duties/fees, which will be deducted from the core fee refund.
